Firecat Studio is a proud sponsor of MobiCampSA – a hip, free unconference on Saturday, Feb. 26 at Trinity University. Great place to meet folks and get inspired with new ideas about all things web, mobile, ipad, iphone, android, social media and so forth.

What Is MobiCamp San Antonio?

Mobi is short for “Mobile” as in mobile or smart-phone applications or phone-friendly websites. You can expect to hear lots about easy-to-update websites (like blogs), WordPress, iPhones, iPads, Androids, GPS or location-based applications, social media applications and tools. MobiCamp San Antonio is an UnConference being held February 26, 2011 in San Antonio, Texas on the campus of Trinity University. It?s an ?UnConference?, meaning that it?s a conference organized in an ad-hoc manner for everyone to attend and participate in. There are no keynote speakers or rigidly defined schedules. Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join. Want to learn more about the business use of smartphones, mobile apps, fund-raising on the go, live video and audio streaming and how it can happen all from your mobile devices? Always wanted to know more about the staying connected and productive while on the go? Then MobiCamp San Antonio is the place to be. We are planning for a crowd of the most plugged-in, most active mobile, business, education, social media and connected folks from all around Texas.

Who Should Attend?

If you’re on the fence about coming – let me encourage you to give it a try. Come for just a little while and see what this is all about. The format sounds a bit new, but it’s all good. You really WILL feel welcome. Newbies and nontechnical people get a lot out of these conferences, as do folks with many years under their belts. If you’re interested in how the web and smart phones are changing our society and business, there will be PLENTY of good info. If you’re a business owner, freelancer or entrepreneur, you will meet lots of people who think and dream as you do and can help you on your journey. If you own or are thinking of getting a smart phone or iPad – do yourself a favor and come out to see the latest gadgets and apps. You’ll get great, passionate advice from folks who know. If you work in the web or communications industry – things are changing WAY too rapidly for you to keep up without comparing notes with other smart folks like the ones you’ll find here. The San Antonio tech and communications professionals are some of the most open, sharing and collaborative you’ll find anywhere. And knowledgeable! They share their experience and techniques openly; come check it out. They’ll be interested in what you have to say, too.
