by Firecat
April 10, 2011

Our lives are more social than ever before – and more complicated. Being more connected means being more knowable, more findable. First Friday in May we’ll examine your rights and risks in more detail.

When and Where?

Friday, May 6, 2011
Coworking (open house) 10:30 am – 3:30 pm
Lunch discussion Noon – 1:30 pm
Firecat Studio, 918 Nolan #104, San Antonio, TX 78202
Managing Privacy and Transparency in Digital Life

Social apps encourage us to share more, and more, and more details about our lives. As a business, you “must be present to win.” People who share authentically seem to get ahead faster. Where’s the line for you? What do you share, how formal or informal are you? Do you talk about your relationships, politics? What if you say something you want to take back? We’ll discuss:

  • Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare et al: Defaulting your life to OPEN
  • Legally, contractually, ethically: Who has interest and rights to our data?
  • Digital Death Day: What happens to your accounts and data after you die?
  • I take it back! Expunging and erasing, is it possible?
  • Kids and digital – what they need to know

Yes, you are welcome to invite others, but please encourage them to register, so we can have enough chairs and beverages on hand. See you on First Friday!
