Get Focused for 2011 – To-Do Lists and Task Management
Were you ready for 2010 to be over, and you’re hitting 2011 as a fresh new start? We’re focusing on Personal Productivity this month, to support all those best-laid plans. And we’ve invited some organizational and business coach types to set us on the road to prosperity. Alicia Arenas, CEO and founder of Sanera, the People Development Company, will share some of her best tips and get us all thinking about, and committed to, what’s really important to ourselves and our businesses. Alicia coaches small business owners, teams and entrepreneurs, and conducts the popular Sanera Boot Camp. With deep experience in Human Resources and Marketing, she can fine-tune a business plan while helping clients develop both personally and professionally. Joan Kearl is a Certified Professional Organizer with scads of experience as a PR and Marketing Communications professional. She has been tapped to help with the reality TV show Hoarders, but we don’t have to be that far gone to benefit from her assistance. Joan sets up and teaches her clients to use sustainable systems tailored to their natural working styles, whether it’s a big political campaign headquarters or a solo professional’s home office.
Topics We’ll Explore
- Systems known to help: Franklin-Covey, Getting Things Done, Outlook or Basecamp or just a moleskine and a pen; any of these systems can work well if you make its use part of your daily and weekly routines.
- The magic – and limitations – of electronic gadgets. Smart phones are helpful; being able to cope when there’s no wifi or batteries is good too. Can you say “Backup”?
- Prioritizing, realistic time estimates and coping with overcommitment. Can you afford the time to be on that nonprofit board or be your daughter’s soccer coach? Are you making time for your longer-term goals, or just putting one foot in front of the other?
- You bring it! Bring examples of what works for you, and your challenges. Don’t miss this opportunity to get in-the-trenches advice from these professional coaches.
As always, Firecat will provide a light lunch.
