IABC Website Barnraising - Content Strategy Workshop
PDF Print E-mail
On Thursday, October 8, we're sponsoring the second "website barnraising" workshop in our series. Participants will work on content strategy and site wireframes, with help from a panel of experts. This content workshop, the second in our series, helps attendees envision business websites as the center of an online community, with information that is continually flowing through the website from eMail, social media sites, and in-person chapter meetings, events and activities. Firecat CEO Susan Price has helped IABC-SA put the series together, and Firecat Studio is sponsoring the event. In this workshop series, IABC-San Antonio's members are working through the planning, strategy and design of a brand-new IABC-San Antonio chapter website optimized for content management and leveraging new social media tools. The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) brings together marketing, PR and communications professionals to share knowledge, help one another's careers, and keep up with the latest tools and techniques. At the second session, held on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Aldaco's Sunset Station, a panel of experts will share their experiences creating web strategies. On the panel are:
  • Jan Boyd, digital producer for Kens5.com will talk about how they had to completely reinvent a site and adapt television media to an online news agency.
  • Tanya Travers with Backyard Studios will talk about the critical and complex world of search engine optimization (SEO) and analytics and will give us all the help we need to improve our own sites.
  • Tom Vaughn with USAA will discuss audience needs and developing relevant online content including how to gain more visitors to your site and how to keep them there.
Then we will guide participants through the development of content modules and wireframe layouts for the IABC-San Antonio Chapter website. See the IABC-San Antonio Barnraising Part 2: Content invitation for more information.
