Catch Susan's Social Media Session

Thursday, March 4, at 2:30 pm, Firecat CEO Susan Price will present on Social Media for Business, along with the lovely and talented Luis Sandoval of TechinTwenty. Check the schedule; looks like we'll be in the Elm Room. If you're there at 9:30, see Colleen Pence and Shaine Mata conducting a similar Brain Jam type session. We'll all be hanging out on the Expo floor in the new Social Media Lounge - so drop by to put your Twitter handle on the wall and meet other cool social media folks. Jennifer Navarrete (aka @epodcaster) will be interviewing attendees, presenters and exhibitors, and streaming the interviews. We'll be collecting Twitter handles in the lab - so stop by and get more networking done faster.

Road Trip to TEDxAustin
Firecat CEO Susan Price is headed to Austin Saturday, Feb. 22 to attend TEDxAustin at the KLRU studios. If you see her there, please introduce yourself. As one of the organizers of TEDxSan Antonio, Susan is keen to develop TED community in Central Texas. She and the other event organizers are fanatic about the value of TED.com's Ideas Worth Sharing and looking forward to gathering ideas for the Alamo City's TEDx event.

TEDxAustin Live Stream

The TEDxAustin event will be live streamed here starting at 10am tomorrow: . The parent TED organization will vet the video to see which (if any) they'll post on TED.com for the larger community. The event runs all day, so if you miss the start, no worries - check in when you have time. Interestingly, attendees don't yet know who the actual speakers will be. The TEDxAustin organizers are a playful bunch, in line with their theme, Play Big.

They, the Disaffected

There's also a party at
Conjunctured, a Coworking space, for the folks who either refused to apply for this curated event, as well as the ones who applied and weren't selected.

What the heck is TED?

If you haven't seen , go check it out. Look through the list of speakers and pick one of the videos to watch. Make sure you have your coffee or other beverage of choice on hand.

Social Media Breakfast-SA Wednesday, June 17
PDF Print E-mail
Have breakfast with the social media professionals of San Antonio, or those who are trying to figure it out! This month's meeting of the Social Media Breakfast - San Antonio is at Rudy's, Westover Hills. See you there!

The Social Media Breakfast is free and open to anyone interested in Social Media. This month we're meeting at the Rudy's at Westover Hills - register for the map and more info. Starts at 7:30, runs through 9 am typically. The address for pasting into your map app is: 10623 Westover Hills, San Antonio, TX 78251. The topic this month is "Training Your Staff to Speak for Your Organization." Social media campaigns need all members of an organization to chime in to get the conversation and buzz going - but sometimes we fear what folks will say, how people react, that what is said will be taken the wrong way. Our discussion will feature Fran Stephenson (@SeaWorldComm), Communication Director at SeaWorld San Antonio and Collen McGee (@SgtMcGee), Staff Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force Reserve. They know about these issues, so come learn from them!

After the Social Media Breakfast, be sure to head over to C4 Workspace for some coworking. Rumor has it that the press will visit to cover the coworking movement's growth in San Antonio and take some photos.
